Karibuni
sana!
Welcome to The House of Blue Hope Foundation website!
Blue Hope is a non-profit organization committed to empowering and enabling local people and organizations to develop various
community projects at a very grass roots level. Currently, we are working with a Tanzanian-based NGO, Youth
Global Action Aid (YOGAA), on establishing and operating a residence, rehabilitation, and tuition center for street children
in Dar es Salaam, aiding them with family reunification and enrollment into schools. Blue Hope and YOGAA
have been working together on the project for almost a year now. In that time, we have raise over $100,000
for the project; we bought a plot of land, designed the facility, and have constructed the first floor. This
month, we are moving the first 8 kids into the first House of Blue Hope, and they will start school in January.
Over the next 2 to 3 years, we expect to expand the facility, adding a second floor, and eventually housing 36 kids,
while raising an endowment fund to keep the facility running and the its residents’ school fees paid for as long as
needed.
Blue Hope will turn one-year old in February. Thus, we
are very young as an organization, and as individuals. We have just started to form a board of directors,
currently consisting of a half-dozen recent college graduates. Together, the organization has unlimited
potential as we look to expand our current project, and add new ones. Blue Hope is open to any partner
with any registered local organization on any philanthropic project tackling any community social need. We
excitedly look forward to what this will mean in the years to come.
